The 2025 StreetBeat Fundraising Appeal officially kicked off at Curtin Shops today, continuing its mission to make every suburb heart-safe with publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Community groups and local businesses were encouraged to raise $2,500 to fund a 24/7 publicly available AED for their suburb. Community Bank Canberra and Regions, part of Bendigo Bank, will once again cover the cost of the cabinet and installation for every successfully funded device. And this year we hope to go beyond the ACT, to the Snowy Mountains, South Coast and Newcastle.
We were delighted to receive the support of Senator Katy Gallagher and Ministers Leanne Castley, Eliabeth Lee, Mark Parton and Taimus Werner-Gibbings at the event, together with David Dutton, Chief Officer ACT Ambulance Service, and Suzanne Schultz from Capital Chemist our major partner for the 2024 campaign.
“Every second counts when someone’s heart stops,” said SERVICE ONE Mutual CEO, Ivan Slavich. “The StreetBeat Appeal is about empowering communities to look after each other and ensuring lifesaving equipment is available where it’s needed most – right in our neighbourhoods.”
Having funded 30 devices during our 2024 Appeal we can't wait to see what we'll achieve this year.
Get involved with your team, family or business and help bring a defib to your community!
